What is contactless valet parking? A plain-English guide

How digital valet tickets replace paper claim stubs, what guests see on their phone, and why venues are switching.

Last updated: 2026-09-15

Contactless valet parking replaces the paper claim ticket with a digital ticket on the guest's phone. The attendant checks the car in on their own phone, the guest gets a link by text or QR code, and later taps one button to have the car brought round. Nobody hands over a stub, and nobody has to find the attendant to ask for their car.

How it works, step by step

  • The guest pulls up. The attendant enters the plate, make and colour, and the system assigns the next free key hook.
  • The guest scans a QR code on the attendant's screen, or receives a text message with their ticket link.
  • When they are ready to leave, the guest taps “Request My Car”. The request appears instantly in the attendant queue with a timer.
  • The attendant marks the car “Ready at Stand”, the guest's ticket updates, and an optional text goes out.
  • The guest can tip by card or Apple Pay straight from the ticket.

Why venues switch

  • No lost tickets, no torn stubs, no reprinting.
  • Guests wait less, because cars are requested before they reach the stand.
  • Cashless tips raise attendant earnings when guests carry no cash.
  • Managers see live numbers: cars parked, average retrieval time and tips.
